November 30th
It was Corvette Thursday tonight,
more than a dozen of the Mid-Florida Corvette club
members came out as usual on the last Thursday of the month. This always
bolsters the 50/50. Tonight it was $112.00. The weather had greatly
improved from earlier in the day, a few showers had been floating around
the area. In fact at 4:00 Linda & I drove through a little downpour just
before arriving at the Cruise-In. Bill & Virginia mentioned that they
were rained on in the -Top on the way from Clermont. I think Trevor
liked it.
The 3 Stooges were scattered about in their parking
arrangements, Bob did end up helping with the selling of the tickets.
Ed, Sarah and Spark Plug were among the first to arrive. Steve Mc had
his Ranchero out tonight. Jim and Shirley had the, (Linda's), Jeepster,
(inside joke), parked next to it. Paul was in his regular spot. "Big"
John had that great '68 Mustang Cobra in his favorite spot. Bob would
later join him in his '41 Buick. Bert & "Ernie" were out in their probe.
Tony & Marianne had the Monte SS parked where they like to park, she was
quiet tonight, she didn't have to keep Nicky "Bop" in line, so she was
resting. Ron & Roy were on the corner most of the night harassing every
one as usual. Neil & Elaine were out for their last Thursday Nite Cuisse
of the year before heading back to the UK next Tuesday. Daughter, Donna
and Granddaughter Amy were with them. We miss you already.
The big circle of chairs next to Paul's car included Jean,
still waiting for her car to come out of the shop. Scott told her he
hopes to have the engine in by Christmas. It will be great to see that
car back on the road with it's new enhancements. Tony & Sharon came out,
sans "Lucy" she is still in the beauty shop. They will be Cruising Steve
Mc's Ranchero this weekend.
It is always a great time with good friends and old cars.
We welcomed 2 new Cruisers tonight, Tom, Kim & Heather in their '64 El
Camino & '72 GTO. As well as Ray & Carol with their '88 and '01
Corvettes, Welcome!
During the drawings Mike mentioned that we will have a
covered dish on the 14th of December. Contact him or Marianne for
details. Cara and Anna were tonight's ticket pickers. Anna and Marianne
were the shoppers for tonight's prizes that were added to the tool sets
donated by Auto Zone. Cruiser #46, Chris & Patti Smith rolled out of the
lot early in their 'Vette. They missed out on the $25 "Cruise-A-Matic",
Awwwww. Next week it will be $50. The holder of the lucky ticket for the
50/50 was Bob Nagro so he won the $112 and donated $10 to this
newsletter, Thank You!
"Cruiser of the Week" went home in the Purple, Nitro
burning, super charged 1930 Chevrolet "Tater Truck" piloted by Cruiser
#525, "Doc" Watson. See the whole story of this heirloom in next weeks
issue.
Here are a few photos.
