November 2nd
It sure gets dark fast
now. At least the lights are working in the parking lot where this
Cruise-In has had it's home for nearly 7 years. Bill & Trevor were
already parked by the time we arrived, Ron had his Z-28 across from Big
"John's" Shelby convertible early as well. Paul's DeSoto had a visitor
tonight, the Blue and White Dodge that was traded for the DeSoto. Ed &
Evelyn made their way out tonight, it hasn't slowed up at the Institute,
just took the night off. as did Ed & Sarah, they had "Spark Plug" with
them in the Starfire. Tony & Marianne parked their Monte so that Ron
could bring out the '70 Monte to be parked next to it. John had his red
Mustang between them and the next cars to brighten it up a bit. Jack had
"Ol Yeller" down in "Hot Rod" row. The "Scot Rod" was down there as well
as Mikes Street Rod. Steve & Cheryl had the '62 Ranchero parked in it's
spot of honor.
While "Lucy" is laid up, Tony & Sharon pulled up in the "Grinster"
Steve is letting them Cruise it this week. Neil & Elaine were parked way
down the line, she already had the Triumph full of all things
"shopping". Don & Marie Bassett rejoined us tonight after a few years
absence, welcome back. We found out later in the night how Bob keeps
that shine on his head, check out the website for the last photo.
Bob was in the trailer helping out Mike along with Anna, an
Old Town regular. She would later draw the tickets. Bob would join the
other 2 Stooges in their heckling row. Cara was spotted practicing her
Cheerleading. "Doc" had the old Tater Truck out tonight. Good News on
Ron Hood, he is home resting uncomfortably but healing well.
I know I didn't mention everyone, I try, I make all those
laps then I have a lapse once and a while. Sad news always does that to
me, this last week we lost Rutha, just a few months after Chuck. Then we
heard of Floyd Hall's passing, this all on the heals of my brother's
passing on the 29th. You all will be missed.
The 50/50 of $70 went home in Ron & Renee Adamson's '62
Caddy after he donated $10 to the newsletter, Thank You. The
"Cruise-A-Matic" of $150 would have gone home with Cruiser # 697, Dick
Hall but they haven't made it down to Florida yet for the Winter Season.
Next week it rolls up to $175.
"Cruiser of the Week" went home in a bright Red '57 Chevy
with Cruiser # 727, Chuck Cooper.
"Cruiser of the Month" sponsored by "Mustang Mike" went
home in "Remember When" Gary & Wanda Thompson's '55 Chevy Belair.
Here are a few photos.
