June 22nd
It was one of those great summer days here in
Central Florida, a bit on the Hot side, that is just the way that Linda
and I like it. However many Cruisers don't like it
as much. The shade in the Parking Lot is not as good as it was before
the Hurricanes of '04. The "Rat Pack" had a some representation, always
good to see them in their row upfront. Nicky "Bop" and Rocco came out in
"Looking for the Echo" the '32 Coupe. Next to him were Ron with the
DelRay, Louie and his '52 Ford, Tony & Marianne with the "Monte" later
Philip & Frances in the Camaro joined in. Doc Watson was in his S-10.
Tony & Sharon were Cruising Steve Mc's Ranchero, Steve had his "Real
Steel" 27 Model T. Bob's '36 Ford is still getting's it's performance
enhancements. Bo was in the Corvair, John had the Mustang next to it.
Mike's Street Rod is still waiting for parts. So along with many of the
regulars we had several people out with out cars for various reasons.
Clay snuck in to his usual spot down in Hot Rod Row. Stephanie & Cris
brought out Butch in the Gran Torino, Larry stayed home. Craig & Mary
were out with out the Corvair, seems they need a new battery. Hopefully
we will start to see them out a little more.
We are still waiting on more information on Duke and Bert,
they are still fighting their ailments. Both still have a bit of a
battle. Again we want to wish them well and let them know they are
missed.
Cara helped "Mustang Mike" in the trailer and during the
drawings at the end of the Cruise-In, AutoZone donated several items
that were to be given out during the drawings.
The heat of summer months and Cruisers taking vacations
always lessens the crowd on a Thursday Nite but we always have the "Die
Hards" even with out their cars. It is still a good time with great
people. The heat is sure a lot better that the cold of the Winter.
Even though we had only about 45 cars the 50/50 was still
$94! "Doc" Watson had the lucky ticket. He donated $9 to this
newsletter, Thank You.
The "Cruise-A-Matic" rolls up to $150 next week, Cruiser
#624, Daniel Young wasn't out tonight. Awwwww
"Cruiser of the Week" went home in a beautifully restored
1959 Silver Corvette owned by Clay (WA8ART) & Carole Lamb, Cruiser #
776.
Here are a few photos.
