"Mustang Mike's"
Saint Cloud Thursday Nite Cruise-In

In the Wal-Mart Parking Lot
Next to the Sonic Drive-In
Saint Cloud, Florida

July 6th

The storm clouds were all around us, looks like rain all over Central Florida. This still did not stop the "Die Hard" from coming out. Shortly after Linda and I pulled into the lot about 4:15 "Mustang Mike" came with the DJ Trailer. Then Paul showed with the DeSoto, then Tommy in his GMC. It was hot and sunny. The black clouds were behind us. Even more clouds to the west. John, (KG4BFJ) spectator and fellow HAM, stopped out to spend the evening with us.

While waiting for other Cruisers to show up I was playing Radio. Graham, (G4HFG/W4HFG) from Manchester UK had his link radio there connected to my repeater via the internet using EchoLink. 2E0RIG, Collin was a few miles away from Graham, in the UK, using a handheld radio, trying to explain how he was talking to Florida with such a little radio. It is quite technical and I might add fun. The Amateur Radio, HAM, is another hobby that is natural for many of our cruisers. If there are any Cruisers that would like to know more about becoming a HAM, just ask Me, Tony or any other HAM Cruiser.

Louie rolled in in his '52 Ford right after Ron maneuvered the '58 DelRay into it's parking spot. Gary & Wanda brought out the '55 Chevy. Tony & Sharon arrived just after 6:00 so we went to Sonic to eat, Steve Mc and a few others came over at the same time. While eating a few more cars came out. It looked as though the weather was going to turn bad, Paul & Tommy headed out. By then, Jimmy, Joe and Scott made their way to Hot Rod Row. Tony & Marlene brought out the 'Vette and reported that Cletus, their '30 Chevy should be back on the road by Saturday.

We welcomed a new cruising couple to this event. Tom & Diane brought out their beautifully restored '31 Ford Model A pickup. Thanks for joining in. The weather stopped the "Car Count" from growing past 20 or so. The 50/50 that Mike almost didn't start tonight grew to $110.

Ed, The "Wookie" had the winning ticket! He donated $10 back to next weeks Cruise-In.

Number 179 was drawn from the "Cruise-A-Matic" tumbler, It belonged to Ron Bozarth, he was out tonight, with his Corvair, so he was the winner of the $175! He dominated $20 to the newsletter and $20 back to the Cruise-In. Thank you. On a side note, John went back to the Channel Islands so the "3 Stooges" have reverted back to "Frick and Frack". We'll see John and his Mustang in a few months.

"Cruiser of the Week" went home with Cruiser #493. Joe & Andrea Colonna and their 1940 Chevy.

Here are a few photos.
