February 2nd
Nearly 80 cars made
their way to the Wal-Mart parking near the Sonic tonight. It was
clouding up pretty bad but that didn't seem to stop to many Cruisers
from coming out. we did get a few water spots as it tried to rain a few
times but just couldn't get started. That's always a good thing not to
be rained out. Tomorrow is another day, just hope the rain is gone by
Saturday.
Larry & Cris and Butch & Stephanie, friends from Old Town
came out and signed up for our Cruise-In tonight. Thanks for coming out!
John Foster had the "59 T-Bird to the Sonic. Many of the "Die Hards"
were in their normal spots. Had plenty of the Tubbed cars along
Pro-Street row. Big Jim brought out "Hot Flash" his '67 Pro-Street
Ranchero tonight, by the way it is for sale.. I asked Dan Z. if he had a
"Big Block" for the Berkeley, I figured he likes the little cars with
POWER. Back down near Corvairville we had plenty of the Street Rods on
display. A few Model A's thanks to Steve and Al. I didn't get to
photograph many of them as I was spending quite a bit of the "Sun Time"
talking with spectators from Germany and Western Canada. Gary & Wanda
came out on the motorcycle tonight, their '55 Chevy "Remember When" is
currently being painted. Philip came out without his Cruiser, still
hasn't had the time to get the leak fixed. Ed & Sarah Malloy stopped
out, they are still seeking just the "Right Car". They did have "Spark
Plug" with them, he is a 7 week old puppy. Trevor thought he was O.K.
Dave & Arleen stopped out for a bit to see everyone. Jimmy Brown said
that Diane was recovering quite well after her surgery last week. Get
well Diane!
Nest week we will be having our "Nothing under a buck
Sweets Bake Sale" for our Valentine Cruise-In.
FACACA goes to "Nature Coast Corvair Clubs", Car Show in
Adventureland Park near Inverness on February 12th. See Ed Booher or
Tony DeBlasio to sigh up.
Don't forget the Hartland Church's "Tuner VS Muscle" Car
Show on the 4th of March, Mustang Mike will be the DJ.
The Trivia question was answered correctly by Jody Glissen,
once again he went home with the $10 "Beef O'Bradys" gift certificate.
The 50/50 of $105 went home with a resident of "DeSotoVille",
wonder if Marsha gets to spend any of it?
Tonight, our shoppers were visiting with Barbra V. she went
in to have that other knee fixed up, so we had cash prizes which some
donated back to the Newsletter, Thank You!
The "Cruise-A-Matic" of $250 went home with Cruiser #213 at
the closing of the Cruise-In we misread the name, actually Mike read the
name from one line down. The Winner was present, with his car and dash
card proudly displayed in his window. Congratulations "Bill Lamping! See
Mike at the next Cruise-In to pick up da Cash!
Bob Berube, Cruiser number 622 was chosen as "Cruiser of
the Week".
