December 14th
Our Last Cruise-In of the year here on a
Thursday Nite. It was to be a nite of all kinds of Snacks and Holiday
goodies. Well, Mother Nature didn't want us to have this one I guess. It
stared off as a bit of a drizzle, then turned into a downright DOWNPOUR!
I guess the odds were against us, we have only had 3 other RAINOUTS for
the year.
Linda & I arrived early, just before 4:00, we had driven
through a bit of light rain on the way to the Sonic. Dana already had
Mike's rig parked in it's spot. Just after we pulled in Bill & Virginia
rolled in, in the "Vette, Trevor was setting next to his "Little
Brother" Lucky the 10 week old adoptee, what a cute lil' pup, the 3 of
them have their hands full. Tony & Marianne arrived in the daily driver
with a trunk full of "Goodies".
A few others stopped in, Jean, with news that the frame was
now painted on her '36 Coupe and the engine was still scheduled to be
installed by Christmas. Ken in his pickup. Bob came out after calling to
see what the weather was up to but by the time he arrived the rain
started up again. John (KG4BFJ) a regular spectator also stopped by.
Many others called to see if it was going to happen. Just about 6:00 the
skies opened up and we all left the parking lot.
No Cruiser of the Week was chosen, no drawings but I did
name the "Cruiser of the Year" for 2006. That honor was given to Tony &
Sharon DeBlasio and their '69 Ranchero "Lucy".
Happy Holiday's!
See you all back here on January 5th, 2007
