"Mustang Mike's"
Saint Cloud Thursday Nite Cruise-In

In the Wal-Mart Parking Lot
Next to the Sonic Drive-In
Saint Cloud, Florida

August 3rd

"Mustang Mike" was already set up by the time Linda and I rolled through the Sonic into the Cruise-In area of the Wal-Mart parking lot, it was very hot and someone was parked in our "Regular Spot" in a big Van. Jack in "Ol Yeller" was the first to arrive, then came Nicky "Bop" in his "Looking for an Echo" deuce coupe, this was his first time out in over a month. The rest of the "Die Hards" including Tommy, Paul & Bill parked down under their shade tree. Steve had to move over one spot into the sun with the "Real Steel" Hot Rod.

Earlier this week Linda received e-mail from Paul & Betty, the "Mustang Twins", they have been all over the country. They had just arrived in Elkhorn Wisconsin, for a Car Show, after seeing Mount Rushmore. Ron & Shirl are also enjoying their "American Trip" in their 5th wheel. It will be good to have them back this fall, that is if they can stop for that long. Al & Aggie just got back home from a trip to Buffalo, Al said they had a lot of fun with family up there.

The Cruise-In started slowly, the clouds were building around us and it looked as though it may rain. Ed & Sherry came out in the "Vette. Tony & Marlene came in the daily driver. Marlene's tongue was to tired to drive "Cletus" tonight. You'll have to ask Paul for a explanation. Joe was the only "Rat Packer" to come out tonight, he parked down in "Hot Rod Row" with Russ & Scott. Jeff had the Feiro parked next to Jaime' s Cobra. Doc had the "Purple Potato Truck" out tonight. It has been a while for us to see that one. Cris & the "Kids" had out the '79 Cobra parked next to the short haired Butch & Stephanie's Gran Torino. Louie & Phillip were parked around Nicky "Bop" and were disappointed that Rocco wasn't with him. Steve, Charlie & Marie had the deVille across from Ron's '58 DelRay. Not to many grandchildren out tonight, however the spectator crowd was quite large. Ed & Evelyn stopped by with Michelle, they were celebrating their anniversary. Bert and "Ernie" had their Cruiser in it's special spot tonight. John, KG4BFJ, a regular spectator was wondering around looking at the cars and showing off the www.sctnc.com  website on his "Tablet Computer".

Just about the time we were setting up for the closing ceremonies the rain came down, very heavily, Across Highway 192 at the A&W, no rain for us, just the nice cool breeze for the closing.

Quiznos, Carvel Ice Cream Shop, Sonic, Bite's and Whistle Junction gift certificates were drawn for, first. There must have been over $200 worth of them that were given out. Speaking of Prizes, Thank You, Barbra for letting us know that our "Super Prize Buyer" Chris has a birthday on the 12th.

With nearly 50 cars the 50/50 grew to $120.00, Richard, visiting with Ron & Renee took home all but $20, that he donated back to the Cruise-In. Thank You.

This weeks "Cruise-A-Matic" would have gone home with John Hopkins, cruiser #733 but he was at Dustin's open house for school. Next week it rolls to $125.

"Cruiser of the Week" went home in a "Scott Rod", a 1931 Ford 5 window coupe, owned by Scott & Cindy Chiavini, #463.

Here are a few photos.
