August 24th
Well the weatherman was right! 60% chance covered us in
Kissimmee and Saint Cloud. It was raining at 4:00 when we headed for the
Cruise-In in the Corvair. "Mustang Mike" rolled in about 4:30. Spectator
John, KG4BFJ, came onto the lot about 5:00. The rain had stopped. I
received several calls from Cruisers wondering if it was going to be
called due to Rain. Ron drove in, in the '61 Caddy ragtop that he took
in trade on the DelRay. Just got back late last night from Arkansas with
it. The rain started up again.
Bill arrived in his Blazer. Tony had "Cletus" parked at the
Sonic, Bob came in the daily driver, Don didn't have his T-Bird and
wondered why it's never in the newsletter. Hmmmm? Stephanie brought out
her Gran Torino from Poinciana, she don't miss a Cruise-In. A little
rain isn't going to stop her.
"Mustang Mike" gave out a few tickets while we were all
under the canopy and drew for a few Beef "O' Brady's gift certificates.
He then officially called it a "RAINOUT" and headed out shortly after
6:00. Then the rest of us followed out of the lot.
We still have one more this month, see you all then.
Here are a few photos.
