The day was a warm fall day here in Central Florida, a cold
front and storm is to roll in later tonight, the breezes were quite
brisk, but it was sunny, so the stage was set for a good time at the
"Square". We arrived shortly after 4:00, Larry in his '70 Chevy C-20 was
the next one to roll in to the parking area. "Mustang" Mike was next
with the DJ rig. Like most of the Cruise-In's of late, this one also
started off slowly. It is really hard to get many photos with the low or
no light.
The "Mustang Twins" had both cars out tonight, Betty got
hers back this week. Tony & Betty Sue had guests with them, they had the
Nova in it's place of honor by the trailer. Andy had Anthony, one of his
grandsons that is a Car Guy", out with him tonight, Always good to see
the young so interested in these cars we enjoy so much.
The Robertson family made us feel at home once again.
Tonight, I had the distinct pleasure of re assigning Cruiser #1 to Tommy
Slaughter this evening. Duke wanted to do this on our first anniversary
here at the "Square". As you all know he was in the hospital that day
and passed away that evening. Mike is set on implementing his wishes as
we are able to due so.
By night's end there were 22 cars that made it out, a light
sprinkle came over us during the drawings. Tonight's 50/50 of $44 was
taken home by Dan, friend and spectator to the Cruises that usually
comes out when Larry is in town.
The "Cruise-A-Matic" would have been taken home by Mike &
Carol Weiss, Cruiser #37, if they would have been in town this week,
Awwww. Next week it rolls to $20.
"Cruiser of the Week" went home with Larry Robinson, Cruiser #88 with
his '70 Chevy pickup.
