"Duke" Davis' Wednesday Nite Cruise-In
Brought to you by Saint Cloud "Bites"
at "Magnolia Square"

East Highway 192
Saint Cloud, Florida

In Memory of C. "Duke" Davis

May 31st

Rain showers all around, in fact, just before we left for the Cruise-In it rained in my neighborhood. As those of us in Florida know, it can rain right across the street.

We arrived at the "Square" just after 4:00. It was funny not to see "Duke" waiting for us. He is in the Hospital ICU in Kissimmee. He is struggling his way back from a stroke that he suffered just this last weekend. "Duke" our thoughts are with you and Gertrude.

Several Cruisers did not make it out tonight as they had rain at their houses, Tony & Marianne made it up from Daventucky, The brothers Piazza were back with us tonight as was Ron Adamson. Most all of the other regulars were in their spots. Cletus, the Ol'Chevy sputtered in with Tony & Marlene. Bob had his Camaro. John & Irna had Rocky's '55 MG TF parked next to the trailer. Tony & Sharon were parked in the front row. Tony reports that we have 20 cars so far to join us at Harmony on the 10th. Steve Mc called, he and Cheryl managed to escape the grandkids for a bit today and were enjoying Disney Downtown. Paul & Betty had both of the Mustangs out. Andy brought out the pickup, it was raining at his house so the Caddy stayed home. Steve & Charlie were out in the Caddy. Roy Fits had his '55 Chevy

It was a bright any sunny evening after a bit, a nice breeze kept the heat from building to much. A great night with good friends. "Duke" you are in the prayers of your friends. Mike played "The Duke of Earl" for Duke during the closing ceremony.

26 cars built the 50/50 to $55.00 and Al didn't win! Jim Rouse, Cruiser #255, was the lucky ticket holder. He donated $15 back to the Cruise-In.

The $65 Cruise-A-Matic would have gone home with #13, Richard the "Iceman" Stephens if he would have joined us. Next week it rolls to $75.

"Cruiser of the Week" went home with Ed & Sherry Gasdick, #171 in their '88 Corvette Roadster
