What the weatherman said was we were going
to have rain. Well, as you know by now this doesn't stop Linda & me from
heading out to the Cruise-In's. We both figured that we would be turning
around and heading home like the last 3 weeks.
Shortly after we parked the Corvair, Tom & Paul arrived in
their "Cruisers", this is a good sign, it might not rain. George,
visiting from Atlanta, rolled into the "Square" with a great '48 Chevy
Coupe Street Rod. Then "Jalopy Jim" filling in for the injured "Mustang
Mike", seems he pulled a "Ham String" while eluding squirrel or
something in his yard. The Cruise-In started out very slowly. It sure
looked like rain.
Ed & Sherry came in about 5:20, Jim started to play music
about 5:30. Ron and the DelRay showed up, Bert & Ernie along with his
brother Roger brought out the HHR. Roger celebrated his birthday with us
tonight. Steve & Charlie rolled in about the time the "Wookie" arrived
in the "Heart Breaker". Bert called Andy's house to see if he could come
out and play. Andy arrived about the time Bob did with his ''71 Camaro.
Jim had the GTO parked down by George's '61 Falcon. Roy parked his '56
Chevy next to the '48 Coupe. Tony & Sharon had the Ranchero next to the
HHR. Louie showed up in time to by tickets, just got off the Golf
Course, didn't have time to go home for the '52 Ford. It turned out to
be pretty nice Cruise-In. It didn't rain.
The 50/50 was $28, Jim Rouse had the winning ticket he
donated $3 to the newsletter and $5 to next weeks "Cruise-A-Matic".
Thank you, Jim.
The $20 in this weeks "Cruise-A-Matic" would have gone home
with Cruiser #94, Michael Corbo, if he would have come out tonight. Next
week, thanks to Jim, the "Cruise-A-Matic" rolls up to $35.
"Cruiser of the Week" went home in a black '71 Camaro owned by Cruiser
#8 Bob Berube.
