The first Cruise-In of the New Year at "Magnolia Square".
When we arrived at about 4:15, Chris was back in town and keeping the
spot open for "Mustang Mike's" trailer with the help of Duke, I guess he
heard that Scott did a great job last week and had to show him up this
week. You couldn't have asked for better weather for tonight's' regular
get together, it was near 70 degrees and wasn't going to get to cold
once the sun goes down.
It was a little slow starting off, Tommy was the second
Cruiser to show up in his '56 Plymouth, then the "Ice man" rolled in,
still not feeling well but he did bring his RC Camaro with him to
entertain us for a while before leaving. Many Cruisers that did not come
out last week were out tonight, some of them just getting over Colds and
the Holiday's. Paul came out feeling a little better. It was a good time
with good friends.
29 cars and at least 4 others in their "Daily Drivers" made
for a good sized little Cruise tonight. Tom Adams brought out the '58
Buick, for this his first Cruise-In since his surgery, it was good
seeing him and Noel, his Cruising Dog, out tonight. Tony & Sharron
called from Valdosta, GA on their trip back from 10 days without sun and
in the deep freeze, better known as Wisconsin. They should be with us
tomorrow night.
The 50/50 made it to #55.00 and Al Wendling had the winning
ticket, he gave back $5 towards next weeks drawing. It was his night,
his number was later drawn for the "Cruise-A-Matic" of $20. Next week it
starts over at $10.
Larry Robinson, Cruiser # 88, one of our Snowbirds took home the
"Cruiser of the Week" with his 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 convertible.
