"Jalopy Jim" was our DJ tonight, 33 Cars
made their way out to the "Square" "Mustang Mike" was still on vacation
in Pennsylvania. One of the reasons for the higher "Car Count" even
during this Holiday Week is due to the fact that there isn't a Cruise-In
at the Wal-Mart - Sonic this week or next. "Mustang Mike's, Saint Cloud
Thursday Nite Cruise-In" has always vacated the parking lot so that we
would not add congestion to the shopping season.
Linda & I were the first to arrive, "Big John" rolled in to
the "Square" with a '54 White Corvette, where does he get these cars?
The parking lot was full of last minute postal patrons for the little
post office. Then more Cruisers started to roll in. Jim set up in the DJ
area out of his van. Tony & Marianne arrived in the black '71 Monte SS,
with a trunk full of "Seasonal Goodies". This prompted Nicky "Bop" to
come out, who then made a rare appearance tonight in his '55 Chevy.
Tommy was in his '66 StepSide GMC. Bill was in his Blazer. Ron Hood on
his '53 Chevy. The Mustang Twins had both cars out. The '61 Caddy was
brought out by Ron. Don was in his 2+2, Charlie & Steve in the '77
deVille came in a little before the "Wookie" in his Mustang followed in
by Andy in his '79 deVille. Bob Berube brought out the Camaro for
the first time in a while, he couldn't let it get jealous of the
Chevelle. Bert had some of his Sister-In-Laws fudge with him, that
didn't last long. Chuck & Cindy had a little trailer behind the
T-Bucket, for jackets, not much room in them little Hot Rods, it was
decorated with Christmas lights. Bob was out in the '41 Buick. Jim came
out in the GTO. Curt had his GMC, Bob from Michigan in his Red Hiboy.
Louie of course was in his '52 Ford, Steve & Cheryl in the Ranchero,
Tony & Sharon in "Lucy", he got out of work a little early so they could
join us on a Wednesday finally. Philip arrived with his Low Rider with
Santa and a couple of Reindeer in it. Then George came in with his the
'61 Falcon but he wasn't the last to arrive, it looked like it would be
Al in the Model A but then just after the National Anthem, Greg rolled
his Camaro into the "Square". I hope I mentioned everyone.
The staff at "Bites" and the Robertson
family made us feel at home once again. Always a great time with
good friends and Old Cars at the "Square".
The 50/50 of $52 went home with Ron Adamson, the
Cruise-A-Matic of $10 would have gone home with Paul Schwartz, if he
would have stayed.
Cruiser of the Week" went home with "Big John" Cuttitta.
