August 16th
One could not have asked for a better day for a Cruise-In
the weather was a typical Florida late summer day, with out the rain.
Everyone seems to come out a little later than normal when its like
this. Maybe they are finishing up on the "Honey Do" lists or waiting for
it to cool off.
The day started off very slowly but most of the "Die Hards"
were there. Paul & Tommy were the first to arrive as usual. Then Don in
his Corvette. Louie in the '52 Ford, Bert & "Ernie" in their Probe. Greg
the Poinciana Kid was out again in his Camaro. Bob in his Camaro,
he had pictures of his newest car, going to get it tomorrow. A 1968
Chevelle 396SS, so the 442 goes away. This one is a factory AC car. Bet
we see Margorie driving this one. With 19 cars it was a little smaller
that Mike and I figured it would be. Bill was in his Blazer, Don had his
2+2 Parked in first, then Ron in the DelRay next to it. Gary & Wanda
were out the first time in over a month, this getting ready to move sure
has had them working at home way too much. Ed & Sherry were in the
'Vette, a week late I might add. Roy came a little later with his
'56 Chevy. Bert called and made sure that Andy was coming out to play.
He did in his Coupe deVille. Al & Aggie were the last to arrive
right after George in his '61 Falcon. I am sure I missed a few, then
again how am I suppose to remember everything that went on? Just like my
cars I am getting old.
It was my night it would seem, I won the $30 50/50, that I
donated back to the newsletter and even won one of the $10 Bites
certificates. Then "Cruiser of the Week" went to
Steve & Linda Butler, Cruiser #16 and their '60 Ranchero "Elvira"
Steve Clarke, Cruiser #5 took home the $45 "Cruise-A-Matic"
he graciously donated $5 to this paper.
Thank you to the Robertson's, Bites and all that showed up
for another great time at "The Square".
Here are a few photos that I managed to take tonight.
