September 21st
The rain came to us off and on all day with periods
of bright sunshine in-between. With hurricane Rita making her way past
the furthest point south of the U.S.A. she sent those pesky "Shower
Bands" to us here in central Florida. This is not the most conducive
weather for an event like this. Just the uncertainty of just were the
rain will fall keeps many "Cruisers" away.
We had to take out our latest "Cruiser" a '61
Corvair Monza 900 to the insurance agent for Polaroid's and a once over.
This was her first "Cruise-In" lots of tinkering yet to be done but it
is starting out to be a very nice car.
We arrived at "Magnolia Square" early. about 4:00.
Shortly after Richard the "Ice Man" rolled in with his blue Camaro. Then
"Mustang Mike" came in.
Gary and Wanda brought out their Dailey Driver,
they left the '55 Chevy home. Tony and Sharon joined in with us tonight.
The red '69 Ranchero brought them out. George and Mary came in the
yellow Monte Carlo. Philip Piazza also stopped by for to see what was
going on in his Dailey Driver. Roy Fitz even stopped in just before Mike
pulled out.
Duke called in from New Jersey think he is back
with us next week. So I guess officially this one was a "Drizzle Out"
The "Cruise-A-Matic" remains at $50 and there
wasn't a "Cruiser of the Week" chosen.
The "Robertson's" once again made us feel very
welcome and most of us enjoyed a meal at "Bites" before we left.

Lets hope that hurricane Rita, a monster
Category 5 hurricane that is on it's way to Texas diminishes a bit
before striking the shores near Galveston. Here damages could be even
worse that Katrina's that hit the northern shores of the Gulf. I
certainly hope not.
See you tomorrow night, then at Old Town and next
Wednesday right back here at Magnolia Square.
