November 9th

Linda and I spent the day at Tom Adam's as Ed Booher, Steve McCullough and Tom had a "Tech Session", that is another story, on our '61 Corvair. We then headed for "Magnolia Square" for the "Wednesday Nite Cruise-In". The weather was perfect and it looked like we might have a record crowd of Cruisers tonight.

Duke and Chris had blocked off many spaces and the area for "Mustang Mike's" trailer by the time we got there at 4:00PM. Paul Schwartz was the first Cruiser to show up after we go there. Then many of the other regulars rolled on in. Mike & Gale Murray arrived at "Bites" for the first time with their '30 Ford Roadster, I incorrectly called it a '31 in last weeks newsletter, it is really hard to figure out what year it is by looking at it. It has a '32 radiator and Steering wheel from a '56 Chevy! This is a familiar sight for Mike, they had just sold their prize winning '56 Belair Convertible a few weeks ago.

Richard "the Iceman" Stephens, or should we call him "Mr. Lucky", was back from Vegas tonight, he came back with a little more than he went out there with, now that is a trick in itself. Later he sat behind the drum set for a little "Jam" session at the "Crush" Cigar Bar. He was also the first prize winner in the drawing. Then he was the $59 cash winner of the 50/50. He graciously donated back $20 to the Cruise-In.

Walter Yarwood, Cruiser #65, another snowbird, came out to night with Ed and Cheryl, his '72 Monte Carlo is stored away for the winter in New York. Good to have you back for the month.

Chris was happy to see the 33 cars, a new record for this location, and at least 3 other Cruisers in their daily drivers, come out tonight.

The "Cruise-A-Matic" of $90 would have went home with Cruiser #60 George Boynton if he would have been out tonight. So next week $100 is in the offering.

Roy Fitz, Cruiser #174 was parked in the "Lucky Spot" tonight with his '56 Chevy, he became our "Cruiser of the Week".

Tonight's Cruise-In was dedicated to Carol Slaughter, loving mother and beloved wife of Tommy, Cruiser #124. She passed away last night. Tommy, remember you are part of this family too, we look forward to having you back out with us, in the mean time our thoughts are with you and your family.

Here are a few photos.

Congratulations to the winners!
See you tomorrow might! Then back here next week.
