"Donation Drive for the American Red Cross"

What a day for a "Saturday Nite Cruise", it was a little hazy and a little unseasonably hot but the weatherman promised that it would be a dry day.

When we arrived about 2:00 there were many cars already "signed in". You know the "Die Hards" were in place. Ben Franklin arrived about 9;30 in the morning to steak out his favorite spot. This was only an hour and half before the "Cruise" even sets up. He told us that he was the 3rd car to come in! Seems like a Turquoise Chevy Pickup and a '52 Pontiac from Jacksonville beat him to "Trophy Row"'.

During one of our many strolls along "Trophy Row" we stopped to chat with Tom and Bob from Brevard County. 2 of the "Drop your Top" gang. Bob just got his great T-Bird back on the road after being put back together after the Hurricanes of last year.

Paul Schwartz was in a spot right at the end of block 3, he must have gotten in early too because he beat Bill to that spot. "Mustang Mike" even got "his spot" in block 3 for the 3rd week in a row!

We crossed Florida Plaza and set up right behind Blackhills Minerals (our favorite haunt, lately that is). We have been setting up here for the last several months as many of our friends from the Florida Antique and Classic Automobile Cruisers Association have been joining us. Tonight was the same, Ed and Evelyn, Tom and Edna as well as Craig any Mary along with Trinny and her young companion Dexter joined the group.

The "General Store Gang" Ray and Cam West, Bob Berube, Ron Simmons along with Dan Z. and Liz. Dan and Liz brought out the '41 Willys for the first time tonight. What a great car, Dan always finds some of the best "Pro Streets" out there. This car is no exception.

Dirty Mike brought out, what one young spectator called his car "Superman Ranchero", his '61 Falcon Ranchero Pro Street. The Super man reference is related to the fact that one night we were not far apart in the Cruise and our near stock "60 Falcon Ranchero was dubbed "Clark Kent Ranchero".

Mike and Carol brought out their '54 Hudson for the first time in over 2 months. It sure was good to see them and that car. Don't be strangers! We missed you guys.

Of course "Old Town Radio" with Mike Singer at the controls could be heard through out town. At 7:00 Electric Red started to rock the crown and "The Dukes" Jim and Craig were set up by the A&W attracting a large crowd as they always do.

Mike T. was back tonight from his much needed rest in the hills of Tennessee. Once again a Great and Safe Cruise, well over 200 cars WOW'd a near record crowd of Spectators along "Deac Hundley Blvd."

On to the flag winners

Tonight's random drawing winners that and received the coveted "Old Town Checkered Flag" along with $25 cash, a case of Valvoline 20W50 Racing Oil and a drink from the Tropical Breeze The $50 Cruise-O-Matic was not won so next week it is up to $50. 1 of these 9 lucky winners receive $100 Old Town Cash instead of the regular prize booty.

Congratulations to the Checkered Flag Winners!
