November 26th

The weather could not have been better for a day at Old Town, it was time to take the Old Ranchero back out to Old Town, Linda and I have been taking the Corvair out the last few weeks, the '29 Model A that usually follows us 2 O'clock had made a trip earlier in the day to Neil & Elaine's for a visit and a "bit of a tinker" on their English sports cars before they headed back to on Wednesday. So Steve & Cheryl and Neil and Elaine would join us later.

As we navigated our way down "Deac Hundley Blvd" we noticed that the spectator crowd was already extremely large. All of the Christmas decorations were in place. Only about 20 Cruisers were on "Trophy Row". We made our way to the regular spot that many members of the Florida Antique and Classic Automobile Cruisers Association park, right behind the "Black Hills Minerals" in block 4.

Many of the "Regulars" were absent, they were more than likely at the "Turkey Run". How ever the real "Die Hards" were in place. Bob Berube was the first to arrive behind the General Store. Ray & Carm joined later, just back from Daytona.

By 3:00 Tony & Sharon was in place with us in their '69 Ranchero, Ed & Evelyn in the '63 Corvair, Mike & Carol in the '54 Hudson, we all hoped that we would have a place Steve's Model A and Neil's 2 English sports cars when we got back from dinner, they missed the 4:00 gate closing.

The gates opened up as the 8 of us were coming back to the cars, Cruisers flooded in both sides of the Boulevard. Both lanes would continue to be open until 7:00PM. After that a steady onslaught of cars pouring onto the street and ending up wrapped all of the way around "Kids Town". A lot of cars we have not seen n a very long time or ever came out tonight.

Our missing cars made their way to the parking area in block 4. Luckily, spots were open to get them near us.

Miss Lisa took the weekend off for a camping trip, Mr. Bill filled in for her in "Cruiser Control". Mike T. had a few less Cruiser Staff tonight for various reasons. A few Cruisers lent a hand, like Donna helped with the registration. Christmas music came over the speakers of "Old Town Radio". "The Dukes" were on the corner by the A&W entertain a large crowd. "Reunion" was rocking the main stage, the Old Town dancers were having a ball in the streets.

On time, right at 8:30 nearly 300 cars made their way around "Kids Town" on to the Bricks, to roll past a cheering crowd of spectators. Once again, Good Friends, Old Cars, and new friends we just made tonight. A Great day at "Old Town" thanks to the efforts of Mike T. and his "short" Cruise Staff another fun and safe Saturday Nite Cruise©..
