Even with all of the
Car Shows and tomorrows "Beach Blast" there were still well over 200
cars that made it onto "Trophy Row". Mike T. was back from his vacation
and all excited about the up coming 15th Anniversary Cruiser on June
4th.
Once again "Old Town" radio was pouring out of the
speakers all day long providing the "Cruisers" with nostalgic music to
set the mood for the 8:30 "Cruise" up "Deac Hundley Blvd." The "Dukes of
Harmony" were doing a gig out of town tonight so the corner by the A&W
was very quiet.
Yes, that was "Mustang Mike's" Red '68 Mustang down
in block 4 next to our Ranchero. He finally broke away from his busy
schedule today and decided to bring "Ain't it Pretty" out for all to
adore. There were more than 20 Thursday Nite regulars in block 4
tonight, with many more further up "Trophy Row". Liz was going to bring
out her newly acquired '65 Buick Skylark convert tonight but Dan said it
wasn't quite ready. Maybe next week.
The crowd of spectators built up slowly, by "Cruise
time" it was near a record crowd, 269 cars made the turn from "Kids
Town" on to the Cruiser route lined 4 to 5 deep on both sides of the
brick streets.
Tonight the "Cruise-A-Matic" of $450 was taken home
by Alex Santiago*. Congratulations! Now he can feed that dog he has tied
to his bumper a big fat steak.
