March 5th

Nostalgic Nova's had their "Mini-Nat" this weekend at Old Town, "Trophy Row" behind "Black Hills Minerals" down to the Roller Coaster was lined with Nova after Nova.

We arrived at Old Town about 1:30 about 40 cars and all of the Novas occupied "Trophy Row". The weather could not have been much better. I maneuvered the old Ranchero into a spot right next to the Chestnut '39 Mercury convert owned by Clarence and Carmen Elder of Owensboro, KY. Linda and I started to track down "Thursday Nite Cruisers" so that we might give them a copy of the "Saint Cloud, Thursday Nite Official Cruise-In News", this last Thursday was our first "Rain Out" of the year and I knew they would want the newsletter.

After some of the Novas pulled out I then moved the Ranchero next to "CTG" Ed and Evelyn Booher's '63 Corvair Monza in their usual spot. I had "Mustang Mike" take my spot next to the Merc. The '68 Mustang owned by Mike liked that side of the street much better then where he had been parked.

A Charity Raffle and donation plea was held to Benefit The Betty Wise Family, she was the member of the Old  Town family that fatally wounded during a hold up at the Old Town Checkers last Wednesday Night.

307 cars registered and "Cruised" Deac Hundley Blvd" at 8:30 much to the delight of the thousands and I mean the largest crowd I have seen in while, were cheering on this 14 plus year tradition. The Cruise was led by the Cruiser of the Month and convertibles filled with "Kissimmee Kreatures" the newest NIFL team.

By nights end over $2700 was collected for Betty's family! Good going Cruisers!

A big thanks to the "Cruise Staff" and Cruise Master Mike T. for another great day at Old Town.

Here are tonight's Checkered Flag Winners.
