Lots of rain kicked the day off, by 2:00 the sun came back out and it
was very humid. This the 4th of July Weekend had many activities here in
Central Florida.
With so much going on this weekend and the weatherman calling for a 80%
chance of rain this evening you would think the the crowd would be small
at Old Town, well you would have been wrong. This 15 year tradition
brings the travelers from all over the world to see this spectacle, The
"Saturday Nite Cruise®".
One might think that the "Cruisers" themselves would be to busy to
attend or possibly stay away because of the rain chances. Again you
would be wrong! Nearly 200 cars made the turn on to "Deac Hundley Blvd."
at 8:30PM just like any other Saturday nite. Even with the brick street
in block four, under a few inches of water did not dampen the cheering
crowd in their delight to view these great automobiles that had been
parked in display on "Trophy Row", some since 11:00AM.
As a "Cruiser" I would like to thank all of the merchants that sponsor
this great event that Linda and I make it to every Saturday Nite, Rain
or Shine.
On to tonight's flag winners....
Tonight's random drawing winners that and received the coveted "Old Town Checkered Flag"
