No car washes today! About 4:00 o'clock it looked lie we were going to
get some rain but it went right past us. There were many reports from
Cruisers coming in that there was rain all around Old Town.
It was a little slow until 5:00PM then the cars came
in a steady stream right up to 8:00PM when the gates closed. The great
(but hot) weather really brought out a large crowd of spectators.
There were several cars out tonight that had come out
for the first time. many of the regulars were already on "Trophy Row"
very early in the day.
Gary and Kathy Collins as well as Jack and Donna
Hendrickson were visiting with out their Cruisers. The familiar Red
Fairlane Convertible normally brought out by the Collins' is getting a
fresh paint job from "Bubba", Jack and Donna are still building there
Willys. The Car may be the Star at Old Town, but the "Cruisers" make the
day one great social event.
At 8:15 Mr. Bill lead the "Cruiser of the Week"
followed by the other 160 cars for "Staging" by "Kids Town" for the
parade up "Deac Hundley Blvd." after the playing of the National Anthem
over Old Town radio.
Remember September 2nd and 3rd are the "Cruiser
Appreciation" days at Old Town.
