January 22nd

Today was the 4th day of the 27th Winter Regional Meet of the Florida Chapter of the Nation Corvette Restorers Society. When I arrived at about 10:30 AM, Corvettes everywhere, the were lined up along Florida Plaza and completely filled the North West Parking lots of Old Town. The South and South West lots contained the Corral and Auction tent beside "Kids Town for the Mecum Classic Auto Auction, This left Trophy row open for all of the Regulars that Cruise on Saturday Nite. The regular spectator parking lot that is in the field along Florida Plaza was the home for the hundreds of Swap Meet booths and a For Sale Corral of everything from a 1930 Model A Huckster to late model Corvettes. So as you can imagine it was a veritable Sea of Cars!

This is the second year for this event at Old Town, from what I saw it was a great success, thousands of spectators and Corvette fans came out to spend the day.

The weather was great except for a few sprinkles that came at us around noon, the Sun came right back out and gave us a great day. "Trophy Row" filled up by 4:30 and the rest of the "Regulars" parked on the brick streets.

By 8:00PM there were 265 Old Town Cruisers to delight the thousands of spectators lined up along the Brick Streets of "Deac" Hundley Blvd. Electric Red was onstage before and after the Cruise to "Rock" the crowd.

Tonight's random drawing winners that and received the coveted "Old Town Checkered Flag" along with $25 cash, a case of Valvoline 20W50 Racing Oil and a drink from the Tropical Breeze The $50 Cruise-O-Matic was not won so next week it is up to $50.
