Bright any Sunny afternoon leading into a clear skied night, except for
the breeze that seemed like a Cold wind, once the Sun went down, what a
great night for a Cruise!
By the time we got there at 1:30 in the afternoon the spectators by the
thousands were milling around Old Town waiting to see all of the cars
roll in. It was worth the wait, everything from a museum condition 1908
Buick to hand crafted "Hot Rods" were on display.
The "Cruise Staff" was on the ball getting all of the cars located along
trophy row. Mike Singer was playing a great selection of songs over "Old
Town Radio" and "Eddie and the Cruisers" rocked the main stage area from
7 to 11PM.
254 Cars hit the street right on time to delight the thousands lined up
on the Sidewalks, intersections and the Boulevard along the brick street
known as "Deac Hundley Blvd." Some of the spectators had their spots
along the way staked out or occupied since 6 O'clock. The near 45 minute
display was incredible as usual.
This month, being February, the month of Sweet Hearts, the Cruiser of
the Month was bestowed on a "Cruisin Couple". Cathy, driving her
husbands '72 Datsun Z, and Doug Thilburg, driving Cathy's '68 Pontiac
Firebird convertible.
