December 3rd

Don't know that happened to the Chop and Drop Productions three day ""Fun In The Sun" Cruiser event with live entertainment, or swap meet that was suppose to take place, we saw nothing around to resemble a show of this type as we entered "Trophy Row". That's O.K. it was to be just another "Saturday Nite Cruise®", that we look forward to each and every week at Old Town. Just another Saturday to visit with our "Family". This was fine by us and just about 350 others that made their way to this traditional event a  fifteen plus year spectacle of just about any car that you can think of that was manufactured before 1972. The one of customs, the Street Rods, Pro-Streets, Original, restored, some great "Replicars"  and even a few "works in progress" and most importantly, the People that bring them here.

Most of the "Regulars" were in their favorite spots, some were a little late making it out because of Parades that they were in today. Bob and Tom from the "Drop your Top" gang actually had a few other cars out from the Brevard club that they are involved with. Ron Hood had his '53 Chevy near the stage, the "Red Line Rodders" right across the street next to John Cain's "Double Nickel Express". Bob & Marge had the old Desoto in it's spot.

Ben Franklin didn't have his "Tomato Can" where he usually parks, he had been chosen as "Cruiser of the Month" and had special parking today. Louie had the "Grocery Getter" out and Joe was driving Kay's '70 Raspberry Corvette.

Block 4 had many of it's regulars parked behind Black Hill's Minerals. The car that lives under the stairs. Steve's 29 Model A, Trevor's' 29 Mercedes, OK so Bill & Virginia drove him out, "Elvira" our '60 Ranchero, "Lucy" Tony & Sharon's ;69 Ranchero as well as Mike and Carol's '54 Hudson Hornet. Many of the "General Store gang were in place.

The night was a bit chilly, the spectator crowd was a bit light but that made it easier for those that lined "Deac Hundley Blvd." for the Cruise at 8:30.

As usual Mike Singer played a mix of Christmas and Oldies tunes over "Old Town Radio". The Dukes were entertaining at the corner by the A&W. "Reunion" rocked the main stage.

Again I must thank Mike T. and the Cruise staff for another great and safe night at Old Town.
