September 22nd

September 22nd: SCTNC It was drizzling as we left the house, many other cruisers called to ask if the Cruise was still going to go on tonight, it was really a herd one to call, it looked as thought the sky was a bit brighter over Saint Cloud. Besides that "Trevor the Cruising Dog" was coming back for the first time since May. It was also his masters (Bill Azar) birthday today and he and Virginia got him a big cake to share with all the Cruisers.

This was the first Thursday Cruise for our little Corvair. She did throw a wheel cover on the way to the Cruise-In and wouldn't you know it it was run over at least twice before I could retrieve it! We worked on the car all day getting it ready. With the confusion of working on it I FORGOT MY CAMERA! Don' know why, I just did. So no Photos from tonight.

Mustang Mike was there at 4:00, we got in about 4:30, just a few minutes later Bill (the birthday boy), Virginia and Trevor pulled up in the Dodge Convertible. It wasn't to much later that Bob Negro rolled in with the '36 Humpback Ford and parked it in the "Cruiser of the Week" spot. George Sanderson then came in with his yellow Monte Carlo. We all stood around visiting, then Linda and Virginia cut the cake for all. Philip Piazza came in with his Blue Camaro and Jimmy Brown came out in his pickup. He had taken a fender off the Model A for some repairs and just wanted to see if we were at the Cruise-In. Don Fetty also came out in his daily driver as well. He is going in for a little surgery next Wednesday, hope all goes well and we see you next week Don.

So, I guess this week was officially a Rainout, even though it really never rained at the cruise, it just sprinkled a bit. However Cruisers that called in we all saying that it was raining at their houses. I am sure it was, this Florida weather, especially with a hurricane out in the Gulf is always a little strange. No drawings or Cruiser of the Week chosen.

Cake was delivered to all of the employee's at the Sonic and even some spectators from Scotland joined in on it.

Trevor was very disappointed that he did not get to see all of his friends tonight, so he hopes that you all come out next week.

See you all at Old Town Saturday Nite and next week at Magnolia Square and then right back here!
