September 1st
It was a overcast late afternoon, we had morning
and early afternoon rain storms. Hopefully the last of the effects of
Hurricane "Katrina". Many of the gas stations along highway 192 were out
of fuel and the prices were nearing $3 a gallon. Gee, I wonder if this
might have been part of the reason that only about 35 cars "Cruised on
In" tonight? Needless to say the cruise started out a bit slow. Many
Cruisers came out in their regular cars. (more fuel efficient than some
of the Classics and Hot Rods.)
We were joined by some Tree Cutters from North
Carolina on their way from south Florida to Mississippi. They worked in
Katrina's aftermath in Ft Lauderdale now they are off to Biloxi.
Dan & Liz made it back to Florida from Michigan,
late last night. They had a '41 Willys in tow, hmmm, they left town with
the Hemi Powered Hillman Husky. Yes, you got it another trade. Anyway
they brought out the Henry J tonight. "Big Jim" and Norma came out
circulating pictures of Dan's Willys. They have been absent because of
the heat.
Ron, Shirley Hood and Mary also made it back in
town from their cabin in Georgia, the '53 Chevy remained there so they
have something to Cruise when they go back in October. It is always good
to see them and the Model A.
We will have a Halloween Cruise on the last
Thursday of October. Details to follow.
Al Wendling had the correct answer to the trivia
question.
The 50/50 was $66 and Steve Clarke took home $56 of
it as he donated $10 back towards next weeks prizes.
The $175 "Cruise-A-Matic" rolls up to $200 next
week. Cruiser #23 Tom Provost was not present to win.
Cruiser #424 Gary and Wanda Thompson took home
"Cruiser of the Week" with their Blue Flamed Black '55 Chevy Belair.
Here are a few photos from the Cruise.

Congratulations to all the winners, see you at Old
Town Saturday Nite.
