Rain Out! With a tropical depression strengthening into a Tropical
storm out in the Gulf of Mexico, our weather once again was wet all day.
By Cruise time once again it was raining. "Mustang Mike", Duke, Linda
and I were in the lot by 4:30. Many Cruisers called "Mustang Mike" or
myself to see what was going on. Well, it was rain! George rolled in
with his '66 Dodge, Gregg and Emma Nelson came out with their PT
Cruiser, this is only one of two weeks this year that he was able to
attend as he usually works nights. Eddie "The Wookie" and Chris stopped
by to see if the Cruise-In was to be called. Don Fetty stopped by about
the time Craig joined us.
Jim stopped by and we were all over eating at the Sonic when Bob Berube
Cruised in with his Camaro and joined us. Just before Mike packed up
Jack Davidson stopped by to pick up a newsletter sans his Corvette.
A few spectators stopped by to see if we were going to set up, they
picked up their newsletters.
Linda and I hung around until about 7:00 and then went to the Wal-Mart
with the Nelson's to do a little shopping.
"Mustang Mike" will be on vacation the next two weeks "up Nort" to
Wisconsin and Jim Rich, "The Duke of Boston" will DJ the Cruises for
him. So Mike's rig will not be present. Jim will have his equipment out
in it's place.
So this evening as far as the record books go is a RAIN OUT. No prizes
given or "Cruiser of the Week" chosen. Let's hope for a dry day next
week and give Jim a hard time at the next Cruise-In.
Tomorrow the "Rod Rod" magazine will end it's "Power Tour 2005" at
Heritage Park in Kissimmee. Gregg Nelson and I will go out in the
morning to check out some of the cars before going out to the
Anniversary Cruise at Old Town.
